Caucasian rugs are one of the most diverse rug types in the world, as the Caucasus region itself is linked to so many different cultures and ethnic groups. Unsurprisingly, the diversity in the region is also reflected in Caucasian rugs as well as in arts and music. Caucasian rugs, being influenced by so many cultures, are very different and unique compared to other rugs; it is also the reason why it is so popular. In its centuries long production, Caucasian rugs have had many weaving techniques and design patterns but somehow managed to keep their general characteristics. Most design patterns seen on Caucasian rugs include geometrical shapes and human and animal figures. There are beautiful landscapes displayed. Most common colors used in Caucasian rugs are red, blue, and yellow, all of which are preferably in darker shades.
