Kayseri Carpet gets its name from the famous carpet making center of Turkey, which is the city of Kayseri. Kayseri is famous for the variety of carpets and kilims it has, and has played a huge part in popularizing Turkish rugs in general. Kayseri carpets are one of the rare carpet types that can showcase the progression of Turkish hand knotted carpets as other Turkish hand knotted carpet types have mostly been lost during wars and other unnatural circumstantial situations. Kayseri carpets are commonly made using natural colours such as white, black, grey and certain shades of purple. The patterns in Kayseri carpets can vary, geometrical shapes and flowers are the patterns commonly used in these carpet types. As Kayseri carpets are extremely hard to make, the carpet weavers need to have incredible amount of patience as well as talent to complete these carpets.
